Sunday wrong line running to Camborne & Redruth
Roger Winnen

Wrong line running these days are a thing of the past with the whole line closed with replacement buses. Back in the 1970s it was a common occurence for trains to set back and run wrong line to the next available crossover of which these days many have been lifted. These photographs were taken on Sunday 9th March 1975.

Hazards of steam working just south of Purton
Purton
Ken Mumford
During the 1985 celebrations 6000 {en route for Swindon] set fire to a cutting just south of Purton (Collins Lane).  I drove to the nearest house and telephoned the fire brigade. a DMU heading towards Glouycester slowed down approaching the fire and later when 6000 came past on its return journey to Gloucester it slowed down.
Hope these photos might be of help,
Kind regards,  Ken.

North Tawton
Minature Railway

A query!

Hello
I have read your article on the above  site which is very interesting. As a child I rode on the train which ran around the garden of Maurice Denshams house. The picture with the train running along side a wall is the wall of the garden and is not part of the car park. The car park  used to be part of the old Bloggs Garage my fathers bungalow use to back onto it and he did take photos at the time when they knocked down the garage to make way for the car park and new houses.

I understand it went to St Austell or some of it did back in 1977 and just wonder if you know where it went and if it is still in use?

Just curious but also thinking if it is still going somewhere and it might be possible to get a few children from North Tawton to take a ride on it.

Many thanks I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
