Night & Day Sleeper Moves
Craig Munday & Roger Winnen
The GWR Night Riviera only sees limited use these days. Sunday and Friday nights are the evenings to catch them.
57603 works 1A50 at Camborne this Sunday just passed.
57602 took a five coach set from Long Rock to Exeter and return on 16th and is seen at Dowgas. This spot allows a grand view of the train with the bare trees. It can be followed from Crugwallins at the top left of the picture, right to the current spot.

Best wishes

Craig

Many Thanks Roger
Dear Keith,
This picture has appeared on the website before. It dates from the late 1900s.
In 1912 or thereabouts (we have no date) the two old Hayle signalboxes were replaced
by a new one on the up platform, but  the photo has been trimmed, cutting out any evidence
of the boxes, which would date the
photo.
The Dean Goods engines worked in Cornwall for only a few years in the 1895-1910 period.

Roy

Many Thanks Roy

Hello Roger, Lovely pictures on the site, including the locos. stabled in Penzance station.
Very cold here in Surrey but the sun was out all day today.
Here is a shot from Michael Adams taken on a hot and hazy 6 August 1983 showing 50015 ‘Valiant’ with the 14.45 Paignton to Paddington service.
Best wishes, Michael.

50047 at Southampton

Roger, Another nice shot from Michael and we see 50047 ‘Swiftsure’ arriving at Southampton on 9 Sept.1987 with the 11.05 from Exeter to Portsmouth. Thanks and Best Wishes Michael Adams
Many Thanks Michael

BRRR! SWINDON STATION
13th January

The Staff Train Information showed that there was engineering work in the Chippenham area. This was the best photo I could get because of reflection. Trains for bristol (Temple Meads) were running via Badminton and thus leaving out Chippenham and Bath - I understand that Chippenham and Bath were served by buses - Chippenham from Swindon and was Bath served by bsues from Bristol?
