Guard Rails at Lelant and St Ives
Dennis Clarke
I travelled on the St Ives branch line today. I have taken a few photos of the guard rails, that run within the running rails. I believe that these are there, in the unfortunate case of a derailment, to prevent a train toppling over into the water or off of the bridge. I have seen these many times but not taken that much notice of them. They are at Lelant station and on the approach to St Ives station, as the line crosses a bridge. A couple of other shots also included

Bodmin & Wenford
Quiet weekend
Jon Hird

Hi Keith and Roger,
I’ve attached a couple of photos of 08359 and 47306 at work on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway today (13th May 2023).

08359 and the clay hoods were sent to collect potential passengers from Bodmin Parkway, sadly due to the strikes today, there were no takers. It still made for a good photo though, like the days of the Wenford clay traffic.

It was a lovely to spend a few hours out with the camera on a brilliantly sunny day.
Kind regards, Jon Hird

Many thanks Jon - looked a lovely day.
