Dunster Buses

Hello Roger.

A slightly different view (attached) of the West Somerset Railway's rail replacement bus operation at Dunster.  Yesterday's vehicles were an immaculate London Routemaster and an open-top Bristol VR.  From the top deck of the Routemaster, the WSR train can be seen, with passengers making their way to the buses.  At Minehead the Seaward Way level crossing is undergoing extensive alterations including re-signalling, and there was considerable work activity there yesterday.  It is hoped that the crossing will be handed back to the WSR before the end of October but the need for signaller and train-crew training means that regular passenger services into Minehead will not resume until the 2022 season.

Kind regards.

Derek

Many Thanks Derek

50009 and 45002 stand outside Laira Depot on the 14th February 1982. 50009's refurbishment and application of large logo livery was completed that month at Doncaster Works and it's looking quite dapper save for a bit of newly acquired grime.  The loco was withdrawn in January 1991. 45002 would fare less well being withdrawn in September 1984.
