I T Woes – A call for help

I have run the CRS website for eleven  years. About 10 photos arrive every day by email and these are uploaded to the CRS website, but also saved to a wi-fi enabled external hard drive for safe keeping. I recently purchased a back-up portable hard drive so there would be an additional copy of the photos, but sods law came in to play this week and the original hard drive seems to have failed just before the back up hard drive could be started. Very frustrating.
Are there any I T experts reading this, or has anyone had any experience of recovering an ailing hard drive (it still spools, and has not been damaged or dropped in a pond, but doesn’t sound happy)? I would be very pleased to hear from you.
Thanks in advance – webmaster.

N.B I have made contact with a local engineer who may be able to help - so fingers crossed until Monday!

Halwill Juct to Bude
Colin Burges

Dear Keith,
Sunday's ride finished with a visit to the former Winsford Cottage Hospital at the junction. It's just along the road from the pub where my late pal Thorney would go, when he was relief booking clerk, keeping an eye on the platform for the few regular passengers. Barry, like his brother Ray, was a conscientious, highly competent railwayman, who used to do his job and have fun. I shall never forget his stories of life on the Bude Branch, delivered in a cloud of cigarette smoke with perfect comic timing.

Keep cool! Colin
A tale well worth reading. Many thanks Colin, long may you continue to explore.

Exmouth Express

It was pleasing for me to see the miniature railway back on the front yesterday. The owners used a patch at the back of the council-owned funpark last year but the rent was a bit too steep.

As an experiment, this year they have set up in the grounds of the Imperial Hotel for a week to see how it goes. They told me that they are happy with the reception they have received. Regards Colin.

The late John Warner. R.I.P.
I am sorry to have to inform you of the passing of John Warner.  I'm not sure whether he was still a member, but I used to come with him to meetings.  He gave a mini talk about railway relics.
John Ball.  Sympathies to Johns family.
