More HST Movements -  En route to
Minehead
John Simons

Monday 11th September 2023 saw a Castle set travel from Laira to Minehead on the West Somerset Railway for storage, 43042 Tregenna and 43162 Caerhayes being the motive power with all decals and castle plates intact. The leading power unit was 43042 on the WSR and the pictures show the train travelling through Bishops Lydeard and Williton stations. The unit can be viewed on the Minehead station webcams in the siding. Picture 1 43042 at Bishops Lydeard Picture 2 43042 at Williton Station Picture 3 43162 Brings up the rear at Williton Station.

Mystery station 1
Chris Bellett
WW1 picture of troops leaving for action - With respect to todays (11/09/2023) mystery station photograph I have a hunch it could be the old station at Weymouth.

Take Care,
Chris Bellett
Thanks Chris, Roger Winnen agrees with you.

Mystery station 2

Weymouth station was the one that came to mind yesterday.

Richard Sims
Many thanks indeed Richard - that link provides a most comprehensive coverage of Weymouth. Also looking at the picture and the smiling faces I wonder if the passengers have embarked on a journey away from the theatre of war.

Update to Links
The Curnow Collection
The Eric Curnow Collection

An update implemented 12th September 2023 I would like to request you to update the link to my website on yours to https://curnowcollection.com

The Curnow Collection consists of 1500+ images, mainly from Penzance to Paddington, but with some deviation to other locations of significance to me, including different poor quality images which appealed to me and were in danger of loss without repair in PhotoShop. The emphasis is on Penzance for the period 1969 - 1977 when I spent a lot of time on the line side, and earlier imagery that helped me understand what had gone before, and had shaped what I was familiar with.

Thank you for your assistance,
Eric Curnow
Highly recomended
