In the
Ivybridge & Wrangaton area
Clive Smith

(1) LMS 4-6-2 Pacific 6233 'Duchess Of Sutherland' passes Primrose Lane bridge at Wrangaton with the 1Z34 08.12 Bristol TM - Par 'The Royal Duchy'.

(2) Freightliner 66602 & 66518 head 6Y15 07.26 Par - Taunton Fairwater HOBC infrastructure train at Daveys Bridge east of Ivybridge station . 66593 is out of sight on the rear. Despite three locos powering the very long heavy train it still lost five minutes on the ascent of Hemerdon Bank.

(3) Freightliner 66589 top and tails 66531 with the 6Y17 07.50 Par - Westbury infrastructure train. This shot is taken about half a mile west of my previous picture at Palace Lane Bridge with Ivybridge station just visible beyond the bridge. This was the second train up from Cornwall and it too was delayed and then put in the loop at Hemerdon to allow two class 1 passenger trains to pass. This is the loop that will be removed in the impending track modernisation in the Plymouth area.

Regards, Clive Smith

One wonders if the removal of the Hemerdon Loop is unwise.
Many thanks for your pictures Clive, you travelled around a bit to get them.
