To Bristol and back
Martin Scane

I had a trip up to Bristol on Saturday/Sunday. The trip up went without incident but coming home was a different story I’m sorry to say. As I write this on the train, I should have been home. Instead the eventual arrival at Redruth wilk be some 150 mins down. I won’t bore you with the details but it was a combination of problems.

Many thanks Martin.  One wonders what excuses were given for the delays - there seem to be an awful lots of delays and cancellations these days. Didn't used to happen a while back.

UPSIDE DEMOLITION
Exeter St Thomas
Paul Barlow
Seeing Rogers picture of Exeter st Thomas in 1975 reminded me of when the upside buildings were demolished. There was a lot of 'railwayana' in these buildings behind boarded up doors. This included padded GWR platform benches, signs and gas lamps. I assume this sadly was all lost in the demolition mans skips. The station building was replaced with a functional steel staircase which still stands today. I also enclose a picture of my Exeter St Thomas totem I purchased from an auction a few years ago.

Hope all is well, Kind regards, Paul

Many thanks Paul - remember the over-all roof at St Thomas.
