Sheer power on

It wasn't an uneventful journey - 7802 was scheduled to run as pilot to Penzance and return but was detached at Plymouth on the outward leg with a hot box.
70019(70000) stalled about 100 yards short of St. Austell station and 47703 was called up to assist to St. Austell and then ran dead-in-tow to Penzance.

Lighning will be remembered as a local engine - Coming home from school I can well remember it  standing at the entrance to Redruth tunnel with an up service train. K.J.

Lots of clagg, Many thanks Paul.

Request for drawings of
Templecombe Box.
Steve Wakefield
Good evening all, Please I wonder if you’d be kind enough to point me in the right direction. I’m searching for the architectural drawings for the iconic signal box at Templecombe. I’m a railway modeller, 7mm scale; I am aware that the signal box has been produced commercially in smaller scales. Also, if you know of any modifications in its history they would be useful too, as fresh plans are usually drawn at each stage. Very much obliged, have great weekend. Steve Wakefield
