I have visited this railway, which is steadily making progress to restore a significant section of the old Helston branch, which has been closed for over 50 years. There is much enthusiasm, and you could see that the kids on half term were having a good time. At £7 (adult) for a two mile trip it may seem expensive, but I enjoyed the general atmosphere and the brake van was fun and was more of an adventure than a 'proper' passenger coach. The café and second hand bookshop are added attractions.
At present this line is diesel worked, but a steam engine - this can be seen - should be up and running before very long. There have been planning permission problems but these have been overcome by a successful appeal, clearing the way to building a bigger terminal. Watch this space!
Regards, John . Many thanks John.
This railway is recommended to all, why not visit.
