Just taken this snap from the carriage window of my train to Bristol so apologies for the quality. The photo shows the 12.27 Cross Country departure for Edinburgh with a 'Not to be Moved' board attached. Something I’ve not seen before on a train standing at a station. One wonders what is wrong? Hi Keith
Following a spell on holiday, I'm back in the seat once more. I was fortunate enough to be invited onto the Officer's Special on 7th September. Loram organized the visit of 37418 and Caroline the inspection saloon to visit branchlines in Devon & Cornwall.
A number of guests from Networkrail and other railway industry partners sampled the journey west behind the spick and span class 37 in fine fettle. I joined at Plymouth for the trip down to carne Point and some pictures of the trip are included.
The saloon itself is remarkable, so much included in a small carriage. At either end there ia a driving position, and three large windows ideal for looking out on the line ahead. Two bays of seating areas are directly behind. There is a narrow corridor linking these area with a kitchen area and separate toilet too. The guests were well refreshed with plentiful tea and coffee and snacks along the way.
Also included are a couple of trains taken at Polbathic near St Germans with the first tinges of Autumn in the air. A serious accident on the A30 westbound near Menheniot resulted in the road being shut for a long period.

Members will be very sorry to learn from Mrs. Tina Palmer 07859922545 that Rick passed away early this morning 10th September 2022. Rick was a founder member of the CRS committee serving for many years as Booksales Officer and also on the Railtour Sub Committee.
Our sympathies to Mrs Palmer who was also involved in CRS matters for a number of years.

I am very sorry to hear of Rick’s passing.
In the early days when I started as Magazine Editor, Rick was very helpful in putting the magazine together, and we used to run off copies on the old Roneo machine in his office. I seem to recall that a fair bit of the dreaded pink correction fluid was used!
