Hi Keith, I was a surreal experience being in Par box with a semi eclipse taking place. Here are two images taken at the same exposure to illustrate the change in light around 9.10 - 09.30. The second image shows shadows from the diminished sun at the height of the action. The green image was snapped through part of a welding mask!!
The other images were taken on the Newquay branch near Goonbarrow of the FGW liveried 153325 and DBS class 66 66092 arriving amongst the gorse shortly afterwards. Cheers Craig Many thanks Craig Hi, You requested pics of other Cornish tokens. Here is a pic of my token.
When I saw it for sale at GWS Didcot 30 years ago, I had to buy it, Penryn to Falmouth and back was my first train ride to register my birth back in 1952 !! Best wishes, Peter Sutton Many thanks Peter Hi Keith, Managed to take a still off my video. Empty stock heading home to it’s base. Dave Many thanks David
Hi Keith. The recent weak sunshine has produced some photo opportunities with the clay workings. 66092 is pictured at Menadue near Luxulyan 17th March, then Lanjeth crossing, and Foxhole on the Parkandillack branch taken on 19th.. Looking forward to the semi-eclipse tomorrow whilst at Par box. Best wishes, Craig Looking forward to Box pictures Craig, many thanks. Hi Keith, The recent high pressure has brought the "wrong kind of sun" for scenic photos, however some shots can still be done. On the 18th, a nervous few hours were spent at Foxhole waiting the weekly train of Jia wagons to pass. I was not even sure it was up the branch!!! 66090 passes Foxhole with the 6C53 1430 Parkandillack-St.Blazey We drove to Par and caught it, after reversal bringing the train into St Blazey. Today (19th) we headed back to Foxhole to get the CDA working and 66092 passes Foxhole with the 6P24 14:24 Parkandillack-Fowey (taken by the assistant) Finally 66090 is caught crossing Milltown viaduct with the weekly 6C53 ThO 15:06 St.Blazey-Exeter Riverside Cheers Ron Many thanks to Ron and Jenny. Hi Keith, With regards to the recent query from Chris Osment asking if any more key token Tolcarn examples with an “E” please find enclosed 2 key tokens from my own signalling collection with the 2 versions of Tolcarne (or Tolcarn) shown. As mentioned earlier both of my examples have had the ends removed by BR before disposal. Hope of interest
Dave Hibberd Falmouth. These are very much of interest David. Any more pictures of tokens throughout the SW would be appreciated to 'decorate' our web pages. Many thanks. Many thanks to Edward Mann for drawing our attention to a rather unfortunate incident in the Wareham Forest. Click below for the story.
